Water Treatment Plant

Maquarie River Intake

The upgrade of the Dubbo Water Treatment Plant required a new intake system from the Maquarie River. A DN600DICL "Sintakote" gravity line was installed from the river through a tunnel to an existing Wet Well.

The existing 60yr old tunnel was accessed via a Sheet Pipe Coffer dam in the river.

The tunnel was cleaned out, the existing DN375 pipe removed, the new DN600 pipe installed and completely encased in concrete.

The installation of a Stainless Steel Screen at the inlet and removal of the coffer dam.
