Spring Creek Dam
The upgrade of the Spring Creek Dam required Main Dam and Saddle Dam structures consisting of 110,000cum Soil materials and 46,000 tonnes Filter materials.The works included:
- Removal of surface materials from the downstream face of the existing dam and
- preparation of the foundation. This included a 50m extension and reinforced concrete encasement of the existing DN375 and DN600 DICL discharge pipes.
- Winning, hauling, conditioning, placing and compacting the soil materials.
- Procurement and Installation of the Filter materials to stringent Qualitry Assurance specifications.
- Installation of 42 Vibrating Wire Piezometers.
- Construction of surface concrete drains, crest access road, landscaping and irrigation.
